SPOT is a two-way floorstander, built around a single 6.5-inch mid/bass driver and a 110 mm Air Motion Transformer.
Dealers and customers value our KIM, but some find it visually dominant for a standmount. Others kept asking for a more design-led floorstander that is still unmistakably FinkTeam.
We also found very few attractive, two-way floorstanders with a single 6.5-inch woofer on the market, so we built one. The two drivers cross over at 1,900 Hz. That is low enough for the woofer to hand over before its dispersion narrows, and the large AMT can play cleanly down to that point. Damped double-layer sandwich panels, side-wall absorbers, and a Clean Port resonator keep the cabinet quiet. The result is a flat response from 45 Hz to 23 kHz, with very low distortion.
We tuned the bass for weight and scale, without making SPOT fussy about placement or room size. It will show what the finest electronics can do, but it doesn’t depend on them.
Although its cabinet is harder to build than the KIM’s, the two are priced very close together.
Unwanted cabinet vibrations are the silent enemy of true high-fidelity sound, masking fine micro-details and smearing the soundstage. At FinkTeam, we approach cabinet design as a fundamental component of acoustic accuracy rather than a simple wooden box. By eliminating spurious cabinet output and structural resonances, Spot preserves the pure signal-to-noise ratio of your recordings, allowing every nuance to emerge with razor-sharp imaging and zero fatigue.
To achieve this level of silence in a compact footprint, Spot relies on sophisticated structural damping rather than sheer mass. The cabinet utilizes damped double-layer sandwich panels combined with custom one-dimensional internal bracing. Rather than letting energy build up, multiple absorbers are integrated directly into the side walls, while a solid curved bass-reflex port equipped with our proprietary Clean Port resonator prevents internal standing waves from degrading low-frequency performance.
Using state-of-the-art COMSOL modelling and precision Laser Scanning, our engineering team maps every square millimeter of the cabinet surface to ensure total structural inertia under load. This rigorous scientific approach guarantees that Spot reproduces music with breathtaking purity and ultra-low distortion (0.2 % THD @1W) across its entire working frequency range.
SPOT is available in a selection of finishes/colours. The rear of the cabinets are real wood veneer, except the white black colours. The cabinets are finished with Eco-Friendly Varnishes and Oils.
Standard Finishes:
White Matt with Steel Grey Front | Amarra Ebony with Black Front | Oak with White Front | Black Matt with Black Front | American Walnut with Black or White Front
Custom and Non-Standard Finishes:
We offer non-standard finishes and can fully customise the enclosure to your individual requirements. In addition to custom wood veneers, we can execute any finish across the entire RAL color spectrum. Whatever your interior aesthetic requires, each speaker is handcrafted to seamlessly match your personal vision.
Crafted with sustainability in mind, our eco-friendly varnishes and oils protect the natural beauty of the wood while ensuring a healthy indoor climate.
As can be seen from the frequency response curve, the off-axis curve is very close to the zero-degree measurement. Tweeter level adjustment is achieved using an autotransformer. We also use an allpass delay network to ensure the drivers are perfectly integrated.
We use two impedance correction networks in the crossover to ensure that it is easy to drive, even with tube amplifiers.
Besides linearity and signal-to-noise the other key parameter the FinkTeam fight for is low distortion.
Low distortion just makes it easier to listen for longer and for instruments to sound more natural. Compare brass instruments live to that reproduced by the average hi-fi system and to a system with low distortion and it’s clear that low distortion is far more natural.
The powerful 6-inch mid/bass driver featuring a linear magnet system delivers deep, controlled bass along with an exceptionally dynamic and low-distortion midrange.
Designed by us and machined from Austenitic 304 non-magnetic stainless steel. Chosen to be the optimum combination of durability, precision machinability and high resistance to the environment, we are hugely pleased with the performance of these spikes/domes.
They are supplied with a suitable spanner for tightening the locknut.
At present the only way to get a set of these is to buy a pair of SPOT but we are considering if we will make these available via our website later this year.
